Overview

Biocapture is a solution developed for fast, reliable, and easy-to-use fingerprint capturing, by utilizing just the standard iOS and Android cameras. It covers a broad scope of use-cases for both public and private sector, providing fingerprint enrollment, verification and identification.

It allows identity checks on the go, in the field, and does not rely on auxiliary devices, thus eradicating challenges seen with other technologies such as surface debris and hygienic issues, which are only increased by the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, as well as expensive hardware and logistics.

The flexible integration of an available SDK into existing Apps or other upstanding systems is enabled, allowing installation on COTS devices, such as smartphones or tablets.

Identity verification traditionally requires travel to a dedicated police station, custody office or security facility – a time-consuming and resource intensive process for the security professional as well as the individual.

Biocapture is a simple smartphone app with live quality assessment that ensures a comfortable and secure way to authenticate the identity of a person. It is designed with ease-of-use and speed in mind, for non-technical front-line users with minimal training required to use the system effectively.

The location of fingers is detected and visualized using augmented reality. A built-in visual quality assessment feature shows a live preview of the fingerprint quality, based on NIST NFIQ 2. The capturing process will stop automatically as soon a certain quality threshold has been reached.

Along with the selection of single- or multi-finger capturing, this makes Biocapture the easiest tool in the market. Advanced and secure biometric technology is finally reaching smartphone users, closing the gap between the need for fast biometric authentication and general unavailability of such technology for individual use.

Touchless

Common capturing devices are touch-based and have issues with debris as well as surface hygiene, requiring regular cleaning and maintenance. Especially in the middle of a global pandemic, these issues prove to be a challenge for both the users, as well as the subjects of identity verification.
Biocapture, being a touch-less system, utilizes the built-in camera of modern mobile devices to capture fingerprints without the need for contact with fingers.
It is used by Law Enforcement and Government agencies, e.g. for voting and registration check-ups. Businesses utilise the technology in diverse use-cases such as access control, digital signature, safeguarding sport events, child protection, contactless terminals, etc.
